Missouri residents will be able to save big on solar starting in 2019
In May 2018, the Missouri House passed Senate Bill 564. As part of this bill, the three largest electric companies in Missouri will be releasing a new batch of solar rebates in 2019. These rebates are going to mean big savings for Missouri home and business owners.
What utilities are involved?
The rebates are available for new or expanded electric systems up to 25 kW for residential customers, and up to 150 kW for non-residential customers.
How much is the rebate?
The rebate will start at $.50 per watt for systems that become operational January 1, 2019 — June 30, 2019.
The rebate will then drop to $.25 per watt for new/expanded installations June 30, 2019 — December 31, 2023.
Are there limited rebates available?
Rebates for Ameren Missouri are capped at $5.6 million per year or $28 million over five years.
Rebates for KCP&L are capped at $1.6 million per year, or $8 million overall.
Rebates for Empire are capped at $1.4 million per year or $7 million overall.
Because of these caps, it’s important to get your installation plans set up ASAP.
